A woman had a been a hen which laid a golden egg everyday. Thus she be came very rich before long. “If I kill this hen. I may get many golden eggs at once. Then I shall become richer” the woman though so she cut the hen’s neck and slit the stomach. But Alas! The woman couldn’t find a single egg at least.

MATILDAS FOOLY

Matilda was known by her neighbourhged as a liar.Telling lies was her hobby. There was no one around, who had not been cheated by her. “Fire! Fire! There’s a fire in our house”! one day Matilda cried. All her neighbours gathered around her house with post and buckets full of water. But there was no fire at all. “This in not the fist time your all become fools.” Matilda loughed at the crowd.
Anotherday Matilda’s house cought fire really. “Help Help , our house is fire.” Matilda crying. The neighbours heard Matilda’s crying. But they didn’t take it seriously “It must he one of her lise” they it seriously. “It must be one of her lise.” They thought. There was no one to help poor Matilda desperately trying to save her burining house.

Rain forest and it has a high degree of bio-diversity.
We can a large number of endemic plants,animals and insects.It is also a store house of herbal medicines and spices.It also helps to maintain the natural rain cycle.
The size of this forest is about
9000 hectares.There is a leend which
Tells us that this vast forest was once
The kingdom of the lion.hence the name “Sinharaja Adaviya”the forest of the lion

Water pitch which Beautiful Damahana village

There is a nice and beautiful water pitch in our village. Damahana double the beach and naturist natural beauty. It is a nice scene and a rare picturesque because its natural location.
This is a natural natures divine
Gift to our village. Because it is made on a stone rock
naturally. The wonder is the water which collect to this pitch come from the roots of trees which grown alone the stone.
The roots of the trees pour and drip water pond and even in dry seasons you find water hence. This water has unbearable cool and it’s really a marvelous. Lot of birds, wild animals, Wild baur, Mongoose, Rabbits, Gallus lafayetti, Galloperdix bicalcarata,Centropus chlororynchos,Jungle fowl, and some other creatures come to drink this water to sustain their thirst.
Not only for animals but also we too can drink this cold water for our thirst. This water is pure. During the rainy season this water pitch is over flow with rainy water and it doubles the beauty at this place. The village Damahana is full fill with lot of there fury of beautiful things.

April is a month of festivals.The Sinhalese and the hindus celebrate the new year.The new year is generally on the 13th or 14th of April.The new year is a national festival.The Sinhalese and the hindus celebrate it in different aways.The catholics and the Christians celebrate easter.Easter is on a Sunday.The Friday before easter is good Friday.Easter and good Friday are important religious days.Sometimes the muslims too celebrate a day in mid-April.Muslims festivals do not always come on the same day.The muslims follow the lunar calendar.The new year festival has very special customs.On this day Sinhalese and the hindus light the hearth at an auspicious time.They also take their new year meal at an auspicious time.This is a very special day to Sinhalese and hindus.

Abraham Lincoln

Lincon was the greatest American President. He was born in 1809. He was a self made person. His father was a poor farmer. As a young man Abraham too had to work as a lumber-man and a wood cutter. With the money he hardly earned, he bought books and learnt to read write. He got a job as a clerk to support his studies. Then for a time he was a post master and a store keeper. He studied law in his spare time and became a lawyer. He took up politics. Soon he earned a name as an orator. At that time slavery was prevalent in the Southern part of America. A large number of Negroes were brought to America from Africa. They were made to work in the plantations owned by rich white Americans.
From the very beginning, Lincoln denounced slavery. “Why should a man be a slave to another?” he questioned. He had made a lot of speeches against slavery. In 1860 Lincoln was elected the President of the U.S.A. The poor boy from the log cabin had entered the White House…! The American civil war erupted shortly. It was between the Northern States and the Southern States where slavery in the U.S.A. Lincoln was a good person with a lot of exemplary qualities. He was shot dead in a theatre by a hard core racist named john Wilkins Booth. Lincoln was not only the greatest. American President. He was one of the great personalities the world produced ever.

Paper boats are very interesting to watch. When you are sending a paper boat you in an imaginary world. During my childhood, when it raining. I had a great pleasure of going out in the rain. Some of my friends can make paper boats. So they too make paper boats an enjoy with me in the rain. They make several boats to me also.
We all use to float them in the drains. My mother don’t like myself getting wet in the rain. So one day she told “I will send you to India on your boat if you do not come home”. “I thought what she told was correct. On the next day when it was raining I made a boat from a large sheet of paper and told mother, “Mother! I have made a large boat so that you and I can India in the same boat. She told my father too and they all laughed at me.

The tea bush is grown widely in sri lanka and several other countries. Tea bushes grow best in the
nuwaraeliya district and broduce very t sty tea . Tea is also grown in the badulla , kegalle , and ratnapuradistricts in large estates.
Some people grow small areas around their homes.
The tea bush is usually kept to a height of about 1 meter.
It grows best on land with a steep slope and well drained soil.
The tender leaves of this bush are plucked, put into bags, and sent to the tea factories. They are then made there into the tea we drink which are sold either loose or in packets.
In the village, people who have small amounts of tender leaves pour boiling water over them. When the turn a dark brown, they add a little ground ginger and make a drink.
